Fruit Fly Notification System - PICs

QFF management is a ‘year round’ activity for all fruit and vegetable growers.

Further information to support growers in managing for fruit fly can be found here:

Regional trends - fly catch data

A surveillance program is in place that  records the number of QFF found in more than 1,400 traps located in commercial and urban areas across the Greater Sunraysia PFA.

If you have a commercial property in Victoria you can apply for a Property Identification Code (PIC), which will provide real-time alerts about fruit fly numbers in your area.

You will receive an alert if QFF is detected in a trap within 1.5 km of your property. This is useful information for growers when implementing their on-farm management strategies.

To apply for a PIC you have three options:

  1. You can apply for a PIC online via Agriculture Victoria's Online PIC service.

  2. You can also use the online service to update your existing PIC details if they have changed.

  3. Contact the PIC Helpline on 1800 678 779 to have a form mailed or faxed to you.
