Consultation is open on the Greater Sunraysia PFA IDC Report
Consultation on the Proposal for the Greater Sunraysia Pest Free Area Industry Development Order closes on February 28
In August 2014, citrus, stone fruit and table grape growers in the Greater Sunraysia area voted to
establish a Greater Sunraysia Pest Free Area Industry Development Committee (the Committee).
The Committee collects money from citrus, stone fruit and table grape growers to pay for
Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF) management in the Greater Sunraysia area.
The Committee is established by government through the Greater Sunraysia Pest Free Area
Industry Development Order 2014 (the existing Order). The Order expires this year (10 December
Growers will decide if the Committee is to continue. This Victorian Government report provide
information to help citrus, stone fruit and table grape growers in the Greater Sunraysia area decide
whether to support a new Order and continue the Committee.
A new Order (the proposed Order) would be called the Greater Sunraysia Pest Free Area Industry
Development Order 2018.The proposed Order is provided at the end of this report (Attachment 1).
The proposed Order would start on 1 July 2018 and finish on 30 June 2022.
